Fylde Coast RBN April Network Meeting

Supporting those who are Seeking Employment

During the event, you’ll hear from our guest speakers:

• Eddie Nelder, Director of Choice Hotels – Introduction to Choice Hotels and their recent journey in supporting the community. Choice have fully embraced ‘Responsible Business’ in the past year from hosting Work Experience students and Project Search interns to provide them with vitally important encounters with the world of work, and more recently providing Care Leavers with work opportunities so that they gain valuable employability skills.

• Graham Cowley, Director of Blackpool Pride of Place – Graham will give an overview of the Blackpool Pride of Place Partnership’s Claremont Project, a ‘ground up’ neighbourhood approach, creating a community focus in the Claremont Ward. Hear about how they’ve faced the acute challenges such as high rates of unemployment and crime combined with poor health outcomes and low average household incomes.

• Hannah Brownhill – Inspiring Claremont Project Coordinator, Empowerment – Hannah is based in Westminster Primary School and started off on an Early Years assessment project, identifying families of worklessness and giving them one-to-one support, such as developing soft skills that will enable them to reach future employment. Hannah will provide first-hand insights of the barriers that people face when trying to get back into the workplace.

• Danny Rossie, Managing Director, RossCon Apprenticeship & Training – RossCon enables vulnerable young people to reach their full personal potential and gain the skills required to achieve long term employment. Danny works directly with NEETs and will provide on the ground insights of the challenges they face, and what he’s doing, along with the businesses he works with, to improve their lives.

Plus the opportunity to network with like-minded businesses and organisations from across the Fylde Coast.
