Blackpool’s brand new Backlot Cinema & Diner has opened its doors, offering Lancashire’s only IMAX® screen as part of a spectacular new cinematic experience.
Located alongside Houndshill Shopping in the heart of Blackpool, the multi-screen cinema complex will play a pivotal role in the ongoing regeneration of the town centre.
The Backlot opened its doors ahead of the Easter holidays with an exciting line-up of new blockbuster releases including Dune: Part Two, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire and Bob Marley: One Love.
As well as showing the latest Hollywood releases, Backlot will offer a diverse selection of films from arthouse titles, family favourites and timeless silver screen classics.
The cinema’s state-of-the-art IMAX with Laser screen is one of the largest in the North West, standing at a gigantic 10.85m tall and 19.87m wide.
Designed to be a vibrant arts and entertainment hub, The Backlot is also equipped with cutting-edge audio technology to host live gaming tournaments and corporate conferences.
There will also be regular events such as comedy nights, film festivals, diner and movie packages, and local community meetings, which will ensure that it becomes a cultural focal point for both local residents and visitors.
The cinema is complemented by a 100-seater diner, offering an American-style diner experience.
